The Portishead Raft Race 2009
The 2009 Portishead Raft Race took place on 12 July 2009 and it proved to be a great success! Thanks to everyone who spectated, participated and helped out on the day.

The race comprised a number of qualifying races around the lake and winners of each heat got through to the grand final! There was also a runners-up final for all those came second in the heats.
As well as trophies for the race winning rafts, there were prizes for the “Best Dressed Raft”, “Best Designed Raft” and “Most Sponsorship Raised”, and "Sinker Rubber Ring" booby prize.

Previous Events
The raft race took place over many years as a Lifeboat event but it lapsed in 2007 and 2008 due to the Lifeboat team having insufficient time to organise it. A new team came forwards to organise the race for 2009.
