We've had some great bands playing at the Portishead Raft Race over the last few years and this year will be no exception!
The following bands are confirmed and we can't wait to show them off!
What an array of talent Portishead has, and we’re very excited to welcome our own ‘The Cats Pyjamas’ to this years’ music stage, adding a contemporary edge to some vintage fizz. A close harmony singing group straight out of the swing and boogie-woogie eras, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" never sounded better, or looked so good!
Portishead singer / songwriter Ben Hutcheson returns home with That’s Just You, a five piece band out of Bath Uni….individual influences bound by vocal harmony. A mix of originals and covers to perfectly accompany a Sunday early afternoon glass at the lakegrounds…come and enjoy.
Portishead foursome Denzil Jay. Regular as geometry and as variable as the weather, Reggae influence permeates through original tunes into dance tracks with an occasional west coast vibe thrown in. Laced with lyrical dexterity and storytelling, and some cheeky covers, promises to be a great set.
The day’s just not complete without some Rock, and local lads Cameron, Jim, Luke, and Morgan aka ‘Wreckage of Society’ playing their new Album ‘Said and Done’ (available on Spotify) are here to provide…and then some. The bands’ influences read like a who’s who of the alternative rock ‘quiet loud’ genre, with Said and Done offering up heavy rock songs, soulful ballads, and much else. The band has supported the likes of Classic Rock featured artist Blackwolf, and Scottish rock legends Big Country on their 2015 Greatest Hits Tour, and the Raft Race are excited to have Wreckage of Society close the curtain on this years’ music stage. An absolute must to see.
