Why not enter your own Edible Boat in this year's regatta? All you have to do is make a bite sized boat out of anything edible and you could win a prize! It's great fun for kids of all ages and parents too!
The only rule is that the boat must be made entirely from edible materials, including any bits that hold it together.
There will be prizes for the best designed boat and the one that floats best and the longest.
There are 2 age categories: under and over 8 years. See photos below for more ideas:
The Edible Boat Regatta takes place on the smaller lake at the Lake Grounds, before the main raft races start. Registration starts at 11:30am and finishes at 12:15pm between the Lakeside Cafe and the boat house.
In recent years about 70 boats entered and it was great fun for all who entered and spectated. Take a look at our photos on Facebook for ideas of how to build your boat.
The registration fee is £2.00 per boat and can be paid at the stand on the day. This includes one fabulous Portishead Raft Race wrist band!
