The 2020 raft entry categories are shown in the table below. There are a lot more Prize categories than this; see the Prizes and Results page for details. We are asking all teams to commit to raising a minimum of £100 from raft sponsorship. There is no distinction between male, female or mixed teams, in either the Junior or Senior categories. Please note that, as we are a volunteer organisation raising funds for local good causes, the entry fee is non-refundable.
With the generous sponsorship of the Lakeside Café, Portishead Raft Race can offer match-funding prizes for teams who are from, or wholly raising funds for, community organisations. These can include Scouts, Guides, sports clubs, youth clubs, schools and any other non-commercial or voluntary groups working for the good of the community in and around North Somerset or Bristol.
The fastest raft team on the day in this category (whether a Junior or Senior Team, and in any heat, semi or final) will receive up to a maximum of £250 to match their fundraising efforts. The second fastest team in this category will receive up to £150 match funding, and the third fastest £100. Your team must be fundraising for a community organisation or local charity to enter this special category. Entering this category does not add anything to the basic entry fee for a Junior or Senior team.
